Content Markup: Movies

Movies are embedded in pages in the same way as images. Adding the following to a page's content will place an movie in the page.

[movie="1"]

The ID number of the movie you want to use can be found in the Movie Manager. (Click 'movies' button in the Admin Bar).

When the page is viewed this will be replaced with a thumbnail of the movie. Clicking on the thumbnail opens a new window with the chosen image that's associated with the movie showing (see the Movie Manager). Click on the image to start the movie playing (it does say that on the page too).

Movie Captions

Again, as with images, a movie can also have a caption override; each movie in your library has a default caption that you can set in the Movie Manager. Occasionally you may want to use a movie in an entirely different context that requires an entirely different caption. In which case:

[movie="1" caption="use this caption instead"]

n.b; see Movie Manager guide for information on the default behaviour of movie-links.

Currently only quicktime movies are supported. We intend to add support for MPEG movies in the not too distant future. In fact all standards based files are a good thing in our book, which means that Windows Media Player and Real may be a long time coming to Weblobe.... if ever. Sorry but they don't like to play with the other children.
