File Manager
Click files in the Admin Bar to open the File Manager.
This is where you upload any documents/files you'd want a user to download such as your software, pdfs, docs. Movies have their own movie manager and soon there will be a similar music manager.
Click add in the File Manager to bring up the add page and you'll be presented with a standard form to fill in:
- Title - Give the file a more descriptive name than x.pdf
- Caption - enter anything else that helps describe the file.
- Keywords - for a description for search engines.
- Reference - to help you find the file, and match it up to any other system you use.
- Category - To group files together for searching.
- Image ID - if you want to use a specific image as a thumbnail to go with this file.
Click on the "choose file" button to select a file on your computer that you want to upload to Weblobe. Click "Add file" to send it. Note that if it's a big file it could take a while to send and browsers don't tell you anything useful about uploading, they usually just site there saying contacting while they do it.
We're working on a neat little progress bar for you, but for now I'm afraid it's just a case of waiting until the page comes back with a message saying it's done.
Once you've uploaded your files use the file download markup to make downloads available on your web pages.
